One UI 4.1.1

One UI 4.1.1: Everything We Know So Far

Samsung released the One UI 4.1 for its Galaxy smartphones and tablets earlier this year. Since introducing the Z Fold and Z Flip smartphones, Samsung has released exclusive One UI updates for its foldable devices. Samsung recently confirmed that it is working on the One UI 4.1.1 for its foldable devices. This update is followed by the One UI 3.1.1 update released last year. The One UI 4.1.1 update will likely be exclusive to Galaxy foldable devices.

One Hand Operation+ Good Lock module was recently updated to version 5.3.31. The changelog reveals “support for One UI 4.1.1 (Android 12L)”. This confirms that One UI 4.1.1 will be based on Android 12L.

One UI 4.1.1 Release Date

  • One UI 4.1.1 is expected to be released on August 10, 2022.

There is no official information regarding the release date of One UI 4.1.1 so far. But we can expect the new Android 12L-based One UI to debut alongside the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. Since the Unpacked event will be weeks ahead of the Android 13 stable release, Samsung will most likely bring Android 12L to its next-generation foldable devices.

Samsung may later bring the One UI 4.1.1 update to its other devices. However, this seems unlikely, as the Android 13 release will be on the horizon. Samsung might skip One UI 4.1.1 and update its other devices to One UI 5 based on Android 13.

One UI 4.1.1 Features

Although there is no information regarding the features of the following One UI update, we can expect some new improvements and changes in the latest update. Since One UI 4.1.1 will be based on Android 12L, we expect all the Android 12L features to come to One UI 4.1.1. Android 12L has been optimized for larger-screen devices such as tablets and foldable devices. It brings well-optimized third-party apps for larger devices. Samsung is finally adopting Android 12L on One UI 4.1.1.

Additionally, Samsung is expected to improve the multitasking experience on foldable devices. There could be some minor features available for other Galaxy devices as well. However, the update will exclusively target foldable devices to improve their functionality and let users take better advantage of their foldable devices.
