One UI 4.1 is a minor update for One UI 4.0

Samsung has just released One UI 4.0, which is based on Android 12. The update has begun to be delivered to the selected devices in accordance with the rollout schedule. Many new features are included in One UI 4.0, including a replica of Google’s Material You, newly added animations, new features, and overall improved user interface stability. After One UI 4.0, you might see One UI 4.1 as the next update.

Update (Feb 9): Samsung has announced Android 12 based One UI 4.1 custom ROM through a video. All Galaxy S22 models ship with One UI 4.1 skin out of the box. The One UI 4.1 update offers RAM Plus feature, improved camera app, multi-platform connectivity, multi-window, smart calendar etc. Other Galaxy devices will soon include in the One UI 4.1 eligible list.

One UI 4.1 Release Date

  • Samsung One UI 4.1 update was released on February 9, 2022.

It is rumoured that the Galaxy S22 will be the first Samsung smartphone to ship with One UI 4.1 pre-installed. As the update is in the works, users’ expectations for the upcoming One UI 4.1 update have begun to rise. The Galaxy S22 could be released in January or February 2022. Which, directly or indirectly, aims to make an official announcement about Samsung’s upcoming One UI 4.1 in the month of February 2022. Even at that point, many devices will be waiting for the One UI 4.0 update. So it will be interesting to see how Samsung will be able to combine those pending devices and roll out One UI 4.1 at the same time.

Samsung One UI 4.1 Features (Expected)

Keeping in mind that the company has already introduced many major changes in the recently launched One UI 4.0, we don’t expect the One UI 4.1 to bring any major changes or upgrades, but instead, it may address all of the loopholes of the One UI 4.0 and will further improve the overall user experience.

In comparison to One UI 3.0, the One UI 3.1 update added features such as an object eraser, the ability to remove location data from photos before sharing, video call background effects, and tighter integration with certain Google apps and services such as Google Duo.

As a result, we presume that One UI 4.1 will include some minor to major features here and there, but nothing particularly significant. On the other hand, Samsung’s colour palette, which is a replica of Material You, is expected to be improved further, and additional support for more icons and applications may be added. The first thing to expect from the upcoming One UI 4.1 is a new polished and smooth user experience.

Tipster Anthony claimed that the One UI 4.1 will bring major improvements in the camera department with new features. The update will also add new features for S Pen. It will offer better multitasking support.

Another report from ITMaterial.co.kr suggest that One UI 4.1 will add new features such as Smart Recommendation, Focus Mode on Multistar, New Color Palette, Director’s View, and Vibration pattern synchronization system.
