Samsung Android 13 Update: Release Date and Eligible Galaxy Devices

Samsung promises to offer four years of major Android OS update

Although many users are still waiting to receive the Android 12 update for their devices, Android 13 is the next big thing everyone looks up to. Samsung is currently rolling out One UI 4.1 based on Android 12 for all its eligible phones and tablets. Google has already begun testing Android 13, and it is in the works. Some Android 13 features have also been known from the developer preview released in February 2022. Android 13, according to the sources, will come with better Material You implementation, changes in the quick settings menu, notifications, lock screen and more privacy features. Google wants to make Android 13 more secure and feature-rich.

Samsung Android 13 Release Date

  • Samsung will likely release the Android 13 update in November 2022, starting from Galaxy S22 series. You will be able to join the beta program using your Samsung Members app.

Samsung is also said to be working on One UI 5, which will be based on Android 13. This year, Samsung has improved a lot on the software support for its devices. One UI 5 based on Android 13 is expected to be released by the end of this year (probably in November 2022). Google announced the Android 13 on May 11 at Google I/O 2022. Reportedly, Samsung may open a beta testing phase for Android 13 with One UI 5.0 by July 2022. We can expect the Galaxy S22 family will get the Android 13 update first. Also, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 could join the beta program alongside the S22 lineup.

Samsung Android Upgrade Policy

Samsung has promised remarkable firmware update policies for its devices. Samsung has promised up to 4 years of major Android updates and 5 years of security updates. This includes their latest flagship S series phones and some newly launched mid-range phones from the A-series. Not just smartphones, Samsung also promised the same update policies for their Galaxy Tabs.

Many Samsung users are looking forward to trying out the new Android 13 features. Samsung Galaxy S22 series phones will be the first to receive the Android 13 update. Samsung will provide the Android 13 update with its next One UI version, called One UI 5.

Galaxy Tab S8 series will also be the first Galaxy tabs to receive the Android 13 update. Samsung will later roll out the update to other Galaxy devices as well.
