Google has released the developer preview of Android 11 for its Pixel devices. It is coming sooner than ever before. Now we know for certain which Pixel devices will be receiving the update, but what about the other manufacturers who customized Android with their skin version? If you are an LG smartphone user and you are wondering if your device is eligible, then we have the list for you. So far, there is no official news from LG about the devices receiving the update. Still, we have analyzed LG’s update pattern from the previous years, and we have compiled all those devices that may or may not be receiving this upcoming update.
- LG Android 11 Release Date: LG released the Android 11 update on February 26, 2021.
Will your LG phone get an Android 11 update?
LG will bring the Android 11 update to all eligible LG devices, which will probably be based on LG UX 10.0. The upcoming custom skin UX 10.0 will bring a significant improvement over UX 9.0.
LG’s way of pushing out updates for their devices is a bit different than others. They don’t follow other’s way of pushing out two major updates. Instead, they push out updates to their most recent flagship devices. For instance, if you own a mid-range LG device with Android 10, 9, or older out of the box, then the chances are that you won’t be receiving another update. Many have also criticized LG’s smartphone business due to this lack of support from the software front.
Even if you do own a flagship LG device, that is one from the G series or the V series, but it is an older model, even then, you won’t be receiving the update. For instance, if you own a flagship LG device that came with Android 8 or older out of the box and has already received an update to Android 10 or is about to, then this is the end of the line for that device.

The phone arrives with a triple camera setup consisting of a 64MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 13MP super-wide sensor with f/1.9 aperture, and a 0.3MP TOF 3D sensor with an f/1.4 aperture. It has a 10MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture. It is a flagship phone and comes with the Android 10 operating system. So, the V60 ThinQ will definitely receive the Android 11 update, which will probably be released in Q1 of 2021.
LG V50S ThinQ 5G
The V50S ThinQ device came into the market last year with Android 9 out of the box. It is scheduled to receive an Android 10 update later this year. Now, considering this is a flagship offering from LG with top-of-the-line specifications and features, it will most likely receive two major updates. So after Android 10, it is expected to receive the Android 11 update, too.
LG V50 ThinQ 5G
This is another flagship device from LG, dubbed the V50 ThinQ 5G, which was launched last year with Android 9 out of the box. It is still running on Android 9, but it will soon receive the Android 10 update. After that, we can expect an Android 11 update too.
LG G8X ThinQ, G8S ThinQ & G8 ThinQ
Because all these three devices come with top-of-the-line specifications, we can expect two major updates for them. All three of them came with Android 9 out of the box and are in the official roadmap for the Android 10 update later this year. After the Android 10 update, we can expect the final update of Android 11 to be pushed out to these devices, too.
