iPhone SE 4 Display Renders

Leaked CAD renders reveal iPhone SE 4 with iPhone 14-like design

Apple’s iPhone SE series was first released in early 2016. The phone used the body of the 2013 iPhone 5S with the Apple A9 processor from the iPhone 6s. The phone was well-received as it was the cheapest iPhone of that era, starting at just $249.

After this, the iPhone SE lineup stayed dormant till 2020, when we received the iPhone SE 2, which started at $399. This used the iPhone 8 body from 2017 with the A13 bionic processor from iPhone 11. Two years later, we received the iPhone SE 3 at $429. This had the same body as its predecessor but an A15 bionic from iPhone 13 instead of the A13.

The iPhone SE 3 had a lot of negative feedback due to the phone using a 5-year-old body and components in a rapidly evolving industry. Fortunately, Apple seems to have listened and will finally update the SE lineup design with the upcoming iPhone SE 4.

There have been new CAD renders that show major changes in the iPhone SE series design. These changes include finally removing the home button and moving to a bigger 6.1-inch display. The front display is reminiscent of the iPhone 13 or 14 series. We have a notch on top with the front camera and other sensors for Face ID. So yes, we will see Face ID for the first time on the iPhone SE lineup.

Design and Dimensions

The leaked dimensions of the phones are estimated to be 147.7 x 71.5 x 7.7mm compared to the 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3mm of the current iPhone SE 2. However, a bigger body was expected because of a bigger display. In other design aspects, we will likely see USB-C, which Apple needs to give to comply with the European Union law.

The CAD renders do not show a mute switch or an action button. Regardless, there is still speculation that we will see the action button on the iPhone 15 Pro series. However, there is no confirmation of this.

We have a single rear camera on the back of the phone. The rear design looks very similar to the current iPhone SE 2. However, we hope there will be a camera sensor upgrade as the current sensor is from the iPhone 8 and 7 years old.

Price and Launch Details

In terms of pricing, we do not have any information. But knowing the iPhone SE series is the cheapest iPhone lineup, we know it won’t be priced very high. We can expect it to be around $500 or less. A price bump is expected, considering the significant upgrades over its predecessors. The highest starting price might be $599, which is very close to the iPhone 14 at $699, so it’s unlikely.

Initially, everyone was expecting the iPhone SE 4 to launch in 2024. This was because it would have followed the Bi-yearly cycle followed by the iPhone SE 2 and iPhone SE 3. However, it is unlikely for Apple to release it this year.
