Realme GT Neo 4 Specs leak: Rivals the Redmi K60?

The Realme GT Neo 3 was a massively successful smartphone among the gaming crowd in 2022, primarily thanks to its fabulous Mediatek Dimensity 8100 SOC that performed as well as the Snapdragon 888 but was a much cooler phone and, as a result, had a better-sustained performance. Everything around this phone was centered on performance and speed. It had 80W Charging, the Dimensity 8100, and a 120Hz AMOLED screen. It also had the IMX766 as the primary sensor, so photography wasn’t bad either.

A few days ago, there were leaks that the Redmi K60, the successor to the gamer-centric Redmi K50, would launch with the Dimensity 8200, a 120Hz AMOLED screen, a 48MP or 64MP primary sensor with OIS, etc. The leaked specifications of the Realme GT Neo 4 suggest that this phone will directly rival the K60. It is also listed on the company’s website. The major upgrade here seems to be to the screen and the SOC.

Realme GT Neo 4 Leaked Specifications

The resolution of the GT Neo 4 is rumored to get an upgrade from 1080P to a 1.5K AMOLED panel with also an upgrade to refresh rate, which is going from 120Hz up to 144Hz. It also might support up to 2160Hz PWM DC Dimming to reduce eye strain. It will mostly be a flat display. The screen seems to be getting a major upgrade from the previous year, but it does not rival the K60, which has a 1440P AMOLED screen, which is a higher resolution than the 1.5K alleged to be used on the GT Neo 4.

Another major upgrade to this phone, according to the source, is the use of the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which is based on TSMC’s hyper-efficient 4nm processing that brought much better gaming performance than even Apple’s A15 since it had considerable bumps to sustained performance as a result of improved thermals. The battery life will also be decent because this SOC has proven very efficient. This is a welcome change for gamers, considering the previous Dimensity 8100 was a great SOC, but enough developers didn’t do it justice due to poor game optimization. Snapdragon chips are better for marketing, and developers will optimize games to run at high frame rates on this chip, so that shouldn’t be a problem now, assuming this leak comes true.

The exact release date for the Relame GT Neo 4 phone and launch event dates, news of an Indian launch, etc., are all kept under wraps for now, and we do not know anything about that now.

The phone is rumored to come with 100W charging speed and a slightly bigger battery than 4500mAh, though the exact size has not yet been reported.

The Redmi K60 that this phone is supposed to compete with will allegedly have the Dimensity 8200, a successor to the Dimensity 8100. Still, we are yet to see how the performance stacks up against the tried and tested Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is a fantastic performer, and that might be an area where Realme has a clear advantage versus the competition.
