Nokia 6 2018 and Nokia 9 Gets 3C Certification; Could Launch in January

HMD Global’s Nokia 6 2018 and flagship Nokia 9 are the talk of the town. The former will be the successor to this year’s Nokia 6, while the latter will be the highest-priced smartphone HMD Global has ever made.

The Nokia 6 2018, with model number TA-1054, has been recently spotted on TENAA. We know the Nokia 9 will have model numbers TA-1005, TA-1009, and TA-1042 from a leaked image and the code A1N.

The Nokia 6 2018 and the Nokia 9 have also been spotted in the 3C or China Compulsory Certification (CCC). From the below image, we can see the Nokia 6 2018 as TA-1054 and the Nokia 9 as TA-1042. The 3C certification is similar to other certifications for product quality standardization, such as the European CE system, but there are important differences. This certification, introduced in 2002, replaced the certifications of the China Import and Export Commodity Inspection Bureau (CCIB) and the China Commission for Conformity Certification of Electrical Equipment (CCEE), significantly simplifying foreign trade with China.

The passed certifications hint that the Nokia 6 2018 and Nokia 9 will be first launched in China, and India may be one of the top countries HMD Global will focus on. Along with the TA-1042 that has been certified, the Nokia 9 might be available with two other variants with model numbers TA-1005 and TA-1009.

According to the rumors, the Nokia 9 will be unveiled at the HMD product conference scheduled for January 19, 2018. HMD Global itself said it would be launching high-end flagships. The Nokia 6 2018 may be released alongside the Nokia 9. Also, they may get an early preview at CES 2018, starting from January 9 to January 12 next year.
