Model TA-1054 is Actually Nokia 6 2018; Nokia 9 to Carry TA-1005, 1009 and 1042 Codes

A new image has surfaced on the web containing the exposed label of the second generation Nokia 6, and the user responsible for the leak claimed that Nokia 6’s upgraded version with model number TA-1054 would appear soon. Previously, it was assumed that the Nokia device with model number TA-1054 was the Nokia 9, but according to the Nokibar forum, TA-1054 is the model number for the second generation of Nokia 6 (D1C). The same sticker reveals the Nokia 9 single SIM variant model numbers, which are TA-1005, TA-1009, and TA-1042. Also, it seems that the code for Nokia 9 is A1N.

According to the user, the second generation Nokia 6 will carry on the same body design and screen frame as the Nokia 6 but will carry some modifications to the body design. The fingerprint sensor on the front will be moved to the behind, like the Nokia 7, which suggests the company may go for slimmer bezels on this device. The smartphone will also opt for virtual buttons instead of physical buttons on the front.

The Nokia 6 will adopt the camera design from the Nokia 5, where the fingerprint reader is placed just below the camera. The Nokia 6 had a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The second generation Nokia 6 is supposed to come with a higher chipset, likely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. The sticker revealed that the device might come with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

The exposed label shows that HMD Global is ready to test these smartphones, and we may see these devices on the benchmarking websites soon. A previous rumor even stated that the Nokia 9 would be launched on January 19, 2018, with a 5.5-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6 GB RAM + 64/123 GB internal space, and dual cameras on the rear.
