iPadOS 16.1: Everything We Know So Far

iPadOS 16 has not been released yet, and it will be nearly a month since iOS 16 was launched. Every time, Apple releases the new Operating System for iPhones and iPads. This time, it has not been synchronized. The reason for the update delay after research is the new Stage Manager feature that will be available on iPads powered by Apple M chips. However, the beta phases have already started rolling out of iPadOS 16, yet we have come across iPadOS 16 Beta 12, also known as iPadOS 16.1 Beta 6. Why does it have to be named that way? The answer to this has been discussed in the below statement by the tech giant.

Apple told TechCrunch, “This is an especially big year for iPadOS. As its platform with features specifically designed for iPad, we have the flexibility to deliver iPadOS on its schedule. This Fall, iPadOS will ship after iOS, as version 16.1 in a free software update.” This is the first time this year that Apple would not release iPadOS 16 simultaneously with iOS 16.

iPadOS 16.1 Release Date:

Update October 18: After a month of beta testing of iPadOS 16.1, Apple has started rolling out the iPadOS 16.1 Release Candidate version to developers and public beta users. Apple has confirmed that iPadOS 16.1 will be released to the public next week. It is said public release has been planned for Monday, October 24, 2022.

There were rumors that iPadOS 16 could be released by October. Currently, the Beta phases for all developers and public testers of the update are live. Now, according to Mark Gurman, he expects the iPadOS 16.1 to be released on October 24.

As discussed earlier, Mark Gurman (Popular Tipster) said on Twitter that he expects the iPadOS 16.1 to be released on October 24, along with the rumored launch of the new iPads and MacBook Pros. The launch will probably include the 10th Generation iPad, iPad Pro with M2 chip, and new MacBook Pros.

The iOS 16.1 Beta phases are also in their ending process. Currently, Beta 5 of the update has been released. It is expected that the stable release of iOS 16.1 will also happen on October 24 alongside iPadOS 16.1. With this, Apple will be able to achieve its tradition again by launching successive versions of both the operating system, i.e., adding iPadOS 16.1 and iOS 16.1. This could also be why Apple has made a statement about the naming convention in its iPad Operating System. With this, Apple’s tradition will be synchronized again.

If you were also waiting for the long-awaited iPadOS 16.1, hopefully, it will be released on October 24. So, you have to wait for some more days, and the stable version of iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 will be announced with the rumored launch of the new iPads and MacBook Pros on October 24.
