The update brings the Oreo features along with improvement in power consumption
ASUS has previously launched Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Zenfone 3, Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 4 pro. Now the Taiwanese electronics giant is rolling out the Oreo update for the Zenfone 3 Deluxe. The smartphone was the world’s first to have an aluminium alloy body and offer Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 and 6 GB RAM. It was launched back in May 2016 and initially Android 6.0.1 marshmallow.
The company gave the official confirmation on it ASUS ZenTalk forums that have started rolling out the new OTA (Over- the – air) update for the Zenfone 3 Deluxe. The update is currently rolling out, but the company says it might take some time for the update to reach all customers as it is being rolled out in phases. For the manual check, users can go to Settings > About > System Update.
The update revises the firmware version to V22.214.171.124 and includes all the Android Oreo goodies like picture-in-picture mode, Notification Dots, Autofill password manager, support for adaptive icons, instant apps, new notification settings and more. Along with this the update also brings new improvements in power consumption which will certainly juice up the 3,000 mAh battery. There is also a new user-friendly interface for the settings menu and the Long Screenshot feature along with some other minor improvements. The update will also contain the latest security patch.
The company had previously announced that all models under the Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 4 series would be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo by the second half of the year. The company had previously launched the Oreo update for some models, but there are still many models waiting for this update. ASUS is working hard to keep its deadline, and all the models will likely get the update before September.
