Asus is all set to launch its 2021 Zenfone lineup on May 12. The series will likely include three devices: Zenfone 8, Zenfone 8 Pro, and a Zenfone 8 Mini/Flip. The company teases flagship performance in a compact size, hinting at the smallest phone with a Snapdragon 888 chipset in the lineup, probably the Zenfone 8 Mini/Flip (Moniker is yet to be confirmed). However, before the official launch, we got memory configuration options and battery capacity of the rumored Zenfone 8 Mini smartphone.
Update: The rumoured Asus Zenfone 8 Mini (5.92-inch) will actually be called Asus Zenfone 8. The 6.67-inch version will be called Asus Zenfone 8 Flip and it will arrive with Flip camera mechanism.
We can confirm that the Zenfone 8 Mini will be available in five memory variants. The base variant of the smartphone will include 6GB of RAM coupled with 128GB of internal storage, while the top-end variant will feature 16GB of RAM clubbed with 256GB of onboard storage. The rest of the configuration includes 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB options.
Furthermore, we can confirm that the Zenfone 8 Mini will have a 3835mAh (Rated)/ 4000mAh (Typical) battery. It will come with support for 30W fast charging.
The Mini variant will have a 5.92-inch 120Hz OLED panel and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset. In the camera department, it will feature a 64-megapixel primary sensor (Sony IMX686).
The recent teaser suggests that one of the Asus Zenfone 8 versions will ditch the Flip camera mechanism in favor of a conventional form factor with a punch-hole display. However, the rumored Zenfone 8 Flip may feature a motorized flip camera.
