Sharp R1S Launched with Dual Rear Cameras and 5,000 mAh Battery

Japanese smartphone manufacturer SHARP has unveiled a new smartphone. Dubbed as SHARP R1S, it comes with model number FS8028. The R1S is a mid-range smartphone with multiple cameras, a big battery, and an attractive price. Though the design isn’t any different from the smartphones in this segment, the specs make up for it.

The body is made of high-quality plastic, giving it a premium feel. The device has three virtual navigation buttons, and the fingerprint sensor is integrated into the home button. It is available in Gold and Black color variants.

As for the specifications, the SHARP R1S features a 5.5-inch LCD with HD (1280 x 720) resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit Octa-core MediaTek MTK6750 processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage, which is expandable by a micro SD card.

The optics department is equipped with dual cameras, consisting of a 12 MP CMOS sensor and a 5 MP CMOS sensor. Unlike the SHARP Aquos S2, the cameras are stacked horizontally and placed in the top left corner with the LED flash. The front offers a 5 MP camera for selfies and video calling.

The R1S runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is backed by a massive 5,000 mAh battery, ensuring long hours of experience even on the HD display. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, Dual SIM, micro-USB, and more. As for the availability, it is only launched in Vietnam and Indonesia with a price tag of 4,790,000 Vietnamese Dong (Rs 13,500 approx) and 2,499,000 Indonesian Rupiah (Rs 12,000 approx), competing against the likes of dual camera smartphones like Honor 7Xn and Mi A1. At this moment, there is no word from the company about the launch in international markets.
