Taiwanese manufacturer SHARP launched the AQUOS S3 High Edition in Taiwan today. It’s the upper variant of the standard AQUOS S3 launched on April 1. A few days earlier, the company confirmed the launch. The device comes with model number FS8015.
The design of the high edition is the same as the standard one, with 3D curved glass with a nano-blasted aluminum alloy design. It has gained a weight of 2g (167.4g x 165.4g). The SHARP AQUOS S3 High Edition features a 6-inch IPS display with FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It has an aspect ratio 18:9 and a stunning screen-to-body ratio of 91%. It is the world’s smallest 6-inch Full-Screen smartphone with 135% sRGB ultra-side color gamut and a brightness of 550 nits. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, an upgrade to the standard variant Snapdragon 630 coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal space with an option to expand it via a microSD card.
In the optics department, the smartphone sports a dual camera setup of 12MP + 13MP with f/1.75 aperture. On the front, it offers a 16MP front snapper with f/2.0 aperture. The cameras also support AI face recognition. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3200 mAh battery. It supports Qi (7.5W) wireless charging technology, is only available on flagship mobile phones, and can be enjoyed directly with a charging board. Connectivity features include dual SIM, 2CA LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and more. It measures 148.2 x 74.2 x 7.98 mm.
The device comes with a price tag of 13,990 Yuan and will be available in Black and Gold color variants. It will be available for sale on June 11 at PChome 24h, Momo Shopping Network, and Yahoo! Shopping Mall. An early bird gift of 2,289 Yuan includes a wireless charging board (worth 899 yuan), imos glass protector (valued at 990 yuan), and an imos envelope with 400 yuan discount coupons.
