Sharp AQUOS zero2 Announced with Snapdragon 855 & Android 10

Today, Japan-based Sharp company has announced a new smartphone in its zero series, dubbed the Sharp AQUOS zero2. The newly announced smartphone is the successor to the Sharp AQUOS Zero, launched in January 2019. The AQUOS zero2 is designed to be lightweight, with a mass of 143g. So, if you play a game for a long time, you can use the device comfortably with less strain on your hands and arms.

The Sharp AQUOS zero2 arrives with a high-performance Octa-core CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, which is coupled with large-capacity memory (8GB LPDDR4x of RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 of ROM).

The AQUOS zero2 features a 6.4-inch full HD + (2,340 x 1,080 pixels) organic EL display (OLED) with a refresh rate of 240 Hz that realizes high-speed display at 4x speed to offer smooth display and high touch performance.

For photography, the phone packs a dual-camera unit on the rear consisting of 12.2MP (f/1.7, 78-degree FOV) and 20.1MP (f/2.4, 125-degree FOV). On the front side, there is an 8MP camera for capturing selfies. The cameras also sport an image quality engine, ProPix2, for blur correction and AI-based camera features like AI Live Shutter & AI Live Story.

The AQUOS zero2 is powered by a 3130 mAh battery. It runs on Android 10 operating system. For biometric authentication, the device packs Face Unlock and In-display Fingerprint Sensor. The phone comes with two color options: Astro Black and Misty White.

The device has waterproof performance conforming to IPX5 and IPX8 and dustproof performance conforming to IP6X. The phone supports Bluetooth 5.0, wireless LAN IEEE 802.11a / b / g / n / ac (dual-band), NFC, and Osaifu-Keitai.

As of now, the company has not announced the pricing and availability details of the Sharp AQUOS zero2.
