Japanese smartphone manufacturer Sharp launched the Sharp AQUOS S2 in August this year. A Sharp smartphone with model number FS8018 has appeared on TENAA and supposedly is the successor of the S2. The device is called Sharp AQUOS S3 and has previously made its appearance in GeekBench.
The Sharp AQUOS S3 is expected to sport a 5.48-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of FHD+ (2,040 X 1,080 pixels.). It will likely get protection from a Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, there is an Octa-core 2.2 GHz chipset. The GeekBench website shows it’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 with an Adreno 308 GPU. It will offer two memory variants: 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage. Both variants provide expandable memory up to 256 GB using a MicroSD card.
The optics department has a 16 MP camera sensor with LED Flash, CMOS sensor, and 4K video recording support. At the same time, the front offers a 20 MP camera for selfies and video calling. The rear camera features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama. The device will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and be backed by a 2930 mAh battery capacity. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, and more. There will also be a USB Type-C.
The Sharp AQUOS S3 resembles its predecessor with its glass body and aluminum frame. There is a big lower bezel that houses the fingerprint sensor. The power button and the volume rocker are stacked on the right side, whereas the SIM tray is placed on the left. The device measures 142.7 x 73 x 7.8 mm and weighs 140 grams. It will be available in Obsidian Black, Gold, and Blue variants. The recent TENAA appearance suggests the launch is at the door.
