5G networks are now the new revolution in Internet technology. All the new flagship phones are adapting to this network. Recently, the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro were launched in an online event, and as we all know, it’s a 5G-enabled phone. Currently, it supports 4G on both SIMs or 5G single SIM, which means you can’t use 5G in one SIM and 4G or 5G on another SIM together.
Luckily, for those who want to have 5G support for both SIMs, there will be an update via OTA that will bring along this feature. The update will bring 5G/4G or 5G/5G support. It will allow users to enjoy the 5G network on both the SIMs together. That does not mean you can use 5G mobile data at the same time. Till now, 5G is not available globally. Currently, 5G is out in some cities in the US and some other regions. It will take some time for the global spread of 5G.
However, if 5G is available in your area, you can enjoy 5G internet once you use the OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro. Till now, there is no official statement for the release date of the update. But we expect it will take a few months.
Talking about both phones now, the OnePlus 8 has a display size of 6.55 inches, and the OnePlus 8 Pro has a display size of 6.78 inches. Both of them run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and RAM up to 12GB of LPDDR5. The internal storage for both the phones comes in two variants viz. 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.0 and Adreno 650 GPU. Oneplus 8 and 8 Pro are backed by 4300 mAh and 4510 mAh battery, respectively. The two phones are based on Android 10 OS. 48MP main rear camera and 16MP front camera are the same for both phones.
