Apple first introduced Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models. It has now been extended to all iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models. Now, it seems the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will adopt Dynamic Island instead of the traditional notch to give users a more functional experience.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Dynamic Island is basically an interactive shape-shifting area that is located at the top of the display. It houses the front-facing camera and sensors. It dynamically changes its size and shape to fit in with notifications and other ongoing activities.
Now, Tipster Evan Blass has shared a schematic of the purported iPhone SE 4 on X showcasing its Dynamic Island feature, though it is barely visible. Although Blass did not mention its display size, earlier rumors point to the 6.1-inch OLED panel. This is not the first time we’ve heard this rumor; last year, another tipster, Majin Bu on X, also stated that the iPhone SE 4 could have Dynamic Island and its design could be similar to that of the current iPhone 16.
Interestingly, Blass also shared a screenshot of the source code that reveals the phone will be called iPhone SE (4th gen) instead of the purported iPhone 16E name we heard earlier this month. Since we do not know the exact marketing name, we are calling it the iPhone SE 4 for now.
Last week, we saw the dummy units of the iPhone SE 4, though it only shows the back side with a single camera, presumably a 48MP unit, as per the previous leak. In terms of performance, it will likely be equipped with an A18 chipset and 8GB of RAM under the hood.
Speaking of its launch window, the iPhone SE 4 may launch in April 2025. It may be priced between $499 and $549 if the latest rumors are to be believed.
