iOS 17 iMessage Issues: Search History Missing, Not Syncing, and More

The Cupertino-based Tech Giant recently launched their iPhone 15 series. It includes iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. All the variants are operating on the latest iOS 17. However, the inconsistencies in the update had led to several issues for the users.

Recently, users complained about the Rewind or Fast-forward Gesture being removed after iOS 17. In addition, the missing custom text tones, app crashing, etc., are in the queue to be counted in the iOS 17 bugs. The number of issues users face when updating to the latest iOS 17 is rising. A new problem that irritates them is the interrupting behaviour of the iMessage application.

Apple’s iMessage App Facing Problems After iOS 17 Update:

According to the reports, the iMessage app is not working as it should be. Sometimes, it is operating slowly, causing lags and stutters here and there. The app’s search history is not working as well. The photos, videos, and texts are missing from the app and not adequately shown on time, causing negative impressions among the family, friends, and group. Additionally, they are not syncing to the latest time as well.

The iMessage’s search history significantly contributes to all the above factors. The feature helps find critical or specific messages, texts, photos, or videos based on the user’s command. Due to the iOS 17 update, it is not working correctly. It can be very problematic for those who use this feature consistently.

A user facing the problem has said on Reddit that he cannot read the messages sent after September 22. In addition, the photos have also disappeared from the message conversations of the users. They are ensured that some of the existing messages are missing from the iMessage application.

Apart from the message disappearance, the synchronization problem integrated with the search history is also concerning. The latest iPhone 15 series is also the victim, as the messages are not syncing or taking time to sync. So, the search history feature is currently useless for them.

There are several more shreds of evidence on social media platforms stating the severity and how widespread the issue is. You can search on popular applications like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit, as users approach these platforms primarily to report a problem and find a solution.

Official Response:
