List of Phones with Snapdragon 690 5G Processor

Qualcomm has recently announced the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 mid-range processor with 5G connectivity. With the Qualcomm 690 processor, 5G will be more easily accessible to people than ever before. It is an octa-core processor with a Qualcomm Kyro 560 CPU, which provides great performance. Since the processor is manufactured with the Qualcomm Adreno 619L GPU, the company claims it will be 60% faster than its predecessors in graphics rendering. Moreover, the remarkable AI of the chipset provides seamless gaming experiences with less power consumption. The Snapdragon 690 5G processor will be housed in affordable 5G smartphones, and here we have listed the smartphones with Snapdragon 690 chipset to buy in 2021.

Snapdragon 690 SoC Main Features

The chip has the Qualcomm Kyro 560 CPU with eight cores, which shows a clock speed of 2.0 GHz. The CPU Architecture is 64-bit, and the processor comprises 8nm process technology. The processor has 2x Kyro 560 Gold cores clocked at 2.0GHz and 6x Kryo 560 Silver cores with a clock speed of 1.7GHz. With these CPU features, the 690 SoC delivers a 20% faster performance than the Snapdragon 675 SoC. The SoC provides smooth multitasking and super-fast response.

Talking about the GPU unit of the chip, it has Qualcomm Adreno 619L GPU, which provides better graphics rendering speed. The GPU unit of the processor is 60% more efficient than its predecessor and supports high-quality video streaming options. Moreover, the processor renders video up to 120Hz. Also, the chipset has a Qualcomm Spectra 355L image signal processor, which supports HD-quality photos. It has support for a 48MP single camera and 32+16MP Dual Cameras and also supports 4K HDR video recording at 30fps.

The X51 5G Modem-RF System supports Global 5G multi-SIM and gives the experience of true 5G speed. The modem shows a download speed of 2.5Gbps and an upload speed of 1.5Gbps.

Additionally, the Snapdragon 690 processor supports Quick Charge 4+ technology and security features like Camera Security, Crypto Engine, Key Provisioning Security, Malware Protection, Qualcomm Content Protection, and Qualcomm Mobile Security.

Sharp Aquos Sense 5G

Sharp Aquos Sense 5G is the world’s first smartphone that packs Qualcomm’s most affordable Snapdragon 690 5G processor. The smartphone features a 5.8-inch IGZO waterdrop notch display with a resolution of 2280 × 1080 pixels. The Sense 5G sports a selfie camera of 8MP with f/2.2 aperture. The rear panel of the phone has a triple camera setup. The camera units include a 12MP (f/2.0) main unit, a 12MP 121-degree FOV ultrawide (f/2.4) unit, and an 8MP telephoto (f/2.4) unit. It is powered by a 4,570 mAh battery with a battery life of one week.

Sense 5G

OnePlus Nord N10 5G

The Nord N10 5G is the ‘lighter’ variant of the OnePlus Nord 5G. The Snapdragon 690 SoC powers it. It comes with a 6.49-inch 90Hz Full HD+ display. The Nord N10 runs Android 10 with OxygenOS 10.5 out-of-the-box. We see a 64MP primary Quad rear camera. The rest of the units include an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The phone has a price tag of around GBP 329 (roughly Rs. 32,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB variant.

Nokia 7.3 5G (Rumoured)

HMD Global has recently tweeted about launching a new Nokia smartphone with the latest Snapdragon 690 SoC. The Chief product officer of the company also tweeted that the Nokia 5G phone will be truly global and will be a mid-range device. The first 5G device of Nokia, the Nokia 8.3, was launched in March. Housing the Snapdragon 765G SoC, the Nokia 8.3 is a flagship smartphone priced at Rs 47,000. But this time, the company will develop another Nokia 5G device, which is truly mid-range. The new Nokia 5G phone could be called the Nokia 7.3 5G.

LG K92

LG has also launched its latest LG 5G smartphone, “LG K92,” with the Snapdragon 690 chipset. LG senior vice president Dr In-Kyung Kim said, “5G is redefining how consumers interact with their devices. LG supports bringing this enabling technology down to lower-priced products by integrating the Snapdragon 690 Mobile Platform.”

HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G

The Desire 21 Pro 5G has arrived in Taiwan as a mid-rage 5G offering with SD690 5G chipset. It has a hole-punch cutout design for the front camera and a quad-camera setup on the rear. The device has been priced at TWD 12,990 (approx. Rs. 34,000) in Taiwan.

TCL 20 5G

The TCL 20 5G runs on Android 11 with TCL UI on top of it. It boasts a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) LCD panel with a hole-punch cutout, 450nits brightness, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 395 ppi pixel density. It has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC with Adreno 619L GPU and 6GB RAM.

Motorola 5G

Motorola will also launch a new 5G smartphone housing the Snapdragon 690 processor in the first half of 2021. The latest device from Motorola, which is the Motorola Edge Lite, is a 5G smartphone with the Snapdragon 765 SoC. The Moto Edge Lite falls in the flagship category, and hence, everyone can’t afford the device. Therefore, the company will be stepping into the mid-range category of 5G smartphones with the new Motorola 5G phone. Currently, there are no details regarding the features, price, and name of the device.

5G Devices from Other Brands

Along with Nokia and Motorola, smartphone companies like Xiaomi and Realme will launch 5G smartphones with the latest Snapdragon 690 processor this year. However, Xiaomi and Realme have not confirmed whether they will use 690 5G SoC on their next device. But, as both OEMs are Qualcomm’s loyal partners, we believe Snapdragon 690 G-powered Realme and Xiaomi Redmi will arrive in the first half of 2021. These devices will be categorized under mid-range 5G smartphones and will give a better user experience and gaming performance.
