MediaTek’s market share increased remarkably after the release of its Dimensity 5G series of chipsets. They even outperformed Qualcomm in terms of market share. They’ve also unveiled a new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G flagship chipset. Not only is it the world’s first 4nm-based chipset, but it also includes many other world firsts in the chipset. It is a powerful chipset designed for flagship devices, and OEMs such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Redmi, and Realme may use the Dimensity 9000 Processor in the upcoming 5G phones. The latest Dimensity flagship chip also competes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G Specifications
Regarding the specifications, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 offers the most powerful CPU ever made by ARM, the ARM Cortex X2. It has a 1x ARM Cortex X2 CPU clocked at 3GHz, 3x ARM Cortex-A710 performance cores clocked at 2.85GHz, and 4x ARM Cortex-A510 power efficiency cores clocked at 1.8Ghz. For gaming and heavy multitasking, it offers ARM Mali G710 GPU with a new raytracing SDK. The CPU and GPU are based on ARM’s latest ARM9 architecture with upgraded security and performance.
The company claims that it has 20% better GPU performance compared with its predecessor, Dimensity 1200. It can support up to 180Hz display with FHD+ resolution. An 18-bit HDR ISP handles the photography and imaging department; it can record HDR 4K videos from three different lenses at the same time. There’s a “Super Night Video Recording” feature that enables the device to shoot good night videos. The ISP supports up to a 320MP camera sensor.
Furthermore, it is powered by MediaTek’s 5th Gen AI engine for an upgraded performance in the AI section. The Dimensity 9000 features an integrated 5G modem that offers up to 7Gbps in the downlink, 3CC Carriers Aggregation (300MHz), and up to 300% faster uplink performance. It supports Bluetooth 5.3 standard, Wi-Fi 6E 2×2, Wireless Stereo Audio, and Beidou III-B1 C GNSS for connectivity. The chipset has scored 1,007,396 points in the Antutu benchmark test.

OnePlus reportedly works on a new handset with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor. The handset will be dubbed as OnePlus 10. OnePlus has confirmed its next flagship, OnePlus 10 Pro, will be launched on January 11, 2022. However, there’s no indication about the launch of the standard OnePlus 10.
Mediatek has confirmed that four OEMs, namely Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, and Honor, will launch phones with Dimensity 9000 Processor in Q1 2022. Oppo said that the next Find X flagship will be powered by the Dimensity 9000. The phone will likely be called Oppo Find X5. Xiaomi VP and General Manager of Redmi Lu Weibing confirmed that the company will adopt the latest Dimensity flagship SoC in the Redmi K50 series. Honor and Vivo did not reveal anything about the devices.
It is claimed that the first phone powered by Dimensity 9000 will arrive in late Q1 2022. As per the leak, the price of this MediaTek 5G smartphone will be around 3000 yuan (roughly $470).
