Samsung is one of the major players in the Android world. One of the key selling points of their smartphones is their software skin, called One UI. Apart from making it feature-rich, Samsung offers pretty long-term software support.
Now, as we are heading towards the launch of Android 15, there are some new developments from Samsung as well.
As per SamMobile, Samsung is planning to launch the first public beta update of One UI 7.0 in the third week of August. Also, this is apparently the delayed release date, as the original rollout was supposed to happen this week.
Delayed because of One UI 6.1.1. We currently expect One UI 7 beta around the third week of August.

This delay is because Samsung wants to first deal with the One UI 6.1.1 update, as many of their older devices are yet to receive it. Once the rollout for One UI 7.0 Beta starts, the Galaxy S24 series will be the first to receive it.
Galaxy S23 series users can also expect Samsung to open the One UI 7.0 Beta Program for them. Things remain unclear for Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flip users.
One UI 7.0 is going to be Samsung’s software skin on top of Android 15. This update will focus a lot on visual overhauls, as Samsung plans to bring many changes to the UI. For starters, the Quick Panel is seemingly going to get a completely new look.
It will also have two pages, one for the Quick Settings and the other for the Notifications. Interestingly, we may also see Samsung’s own take on Apple’s Dynamic Island. This will be placed on the top left side of the screen in the status bar. Samsung is apparently going for a more rounded look for various elements throughout the UI.
Moving on, we will also see some changes to the lockscreen in terms of both the design and functionality. Another change we can see is in the Finder search bar, which has been moved to the bottom of the app drawer from its previous position at the top.
One last major design change that we currently know of is that many of the stock app icons are going to get a redesign. Material You theming for apps may also see some improvements.
Lastly, we are also hearing about new animations and transitions throughout the UI. They will seemingly be smoother as well. We hope to see all these changes and improvements soon once the company starts rolling out the beta firmware.
