After One UI 6.0, Samsung released the One UI 6.1 update, which turned out to be a huge update incorporating new features, including Galaxy AI. While many devices are yet to receive the One UI 6.1 update, talk about the upcoming One UI 7 update has already started.
As per tradition, Google released the Android 15 Developer Preview last week. We are getting closer to the One UI 7 update based on Android 15.
Let’s take a look at the expected release window and supported devices. We will also be updating this post as new information becomes available. So stay tuned.
One UI 7 Expected Release Window
Release Type | Expected Window |
---|---|
One UI 7 Beta | September-October 2024 |
One UI 7 Stable | November 2024 |
One UI 6.0 has been rolled out to almost all Galaxy devices. And since One UI 6.1 has also been released, Samsung should be working on the iteration of One UI 7 based on Android 15. While we don’t have any official information from Samsung yet, we can make an educated guess on the release window.
If you look at history, Samsung always releases a new version of One UI shortly after a new Android version is launched. The beta program starts before the stable release of Android, but the stable version arrives only after a month or two.
For reference, the One UI 6 beta started on September 27, 2023, a few days before the stable Android 14 release. Also, the stable One UI 6 started rolling out a month later, on October 30, 2023.
Therefore, if the past is any indication, the One UI 7 beta should be released in September-October 2024, and the One UI 7 stable update should start rolling out to eligible devices in late October or November 2024.
Samsung has recently improved greatly in delivering updates, so the release could be earlier than expected. It is important to note that while the stable version of Android usually lands in August, Google seems to have made some changes this time, with the launch being in October.
