We are very close to the Consumer Electronics Show 2025, and the leaks have started coming in rapidly. In the latest news, a leak suggests that NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 is going to feature 8GB of video RAM. Meanwhile, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is going to double that with 16GB.
This leak comes from Wccftech, and they claim to have acquired some early details from their sources.
GDDR7 Memory with 128-bit Memory Bus Interface
The GeForce RTX 5060 and the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti will feature 8GB and 16GB of GDDR7 memory, respectively, with up to 28 Gbps frequency. This new memory interface will allow a rough total of 448 GB/s of bandwidth.
That is a 65% jump over the standard RTX 4060 and a 55% boost over the RTX 4060 Ti. Both the cards from the RTX 50 series are also said to utilize a 128-bit memory bus interface, the same as the RTX 4060 cards.
However, the bandwidth gains due to GDDR7 memory paired with other new technologies under the hood could make up for the small memory bus interface. Users might also be rightly disappointed due to the small 8GB of VRAM on the standard RTX 5060.
Considering various factors, it is possible that NVIDIA will launch one with a higher memory. But we cannot say that for sure yet.
Diving further into the technicalities, the RTX 5060 and the RTX 5060 Ti will use a PG152 board SKU. They will also likely use the GB206 GPU core, whose CUDA core counts are yet to come out. We are also missing some other details, like the thermal design power (TDP), clock speeds, etc. These may surface online in leaks as we approach the launch window, so stay tuned.
Both of these cards will most likely come out towards the end of the first quarter of 2025. The exact dates are unconfirmed right now, but we can expect NVIDIA to announce them sometime in February or March.
