Last month, Qualcomm has announced that a Nokia 5G smartphone with new integrated Snapdragon 7 Series 5G mobile platform coming in 2020. HMD CPO Juho Sarvikas has confirmed the same by retweeting the tweet from Qualcomm. He has also teased the upcoming Nokia 5G phone hinting at the notch-less and bezel-less design.
HMD Global is planning to launch the successor of the Nokia 8.1 i.e. Nokia 8.2 later this year, but a new rumour suggests the company’s upcoming 5G phone might be a 5G variant of Nokia 8.2 which could be dubbed as Nokia 8.2 5G. There is also a chance company may announce the 5G value flagship with the different marketing name other than Nokia 8.2 5G.
According to a report by NokiaPowerUser, HMD is testing Nokia 8.2 5G prototype for MWC 2020 with a 64MP camera and a hole-less display. This means the company will skip both the notch and punch-hole designs for true bezel less display implementation. The report further added we will see an impressive Quad-round-camera module at the rear with a 64MP primary sensor. For capturing selfies, the phone will have a pop-up camera which will be a first for the company. Other feature includes ZEISS optics, Night Mode and OZO Audio which isn’t surprising.
The Nokia 8.2 alongside its 5G version are expected to be launched at MWC 2020 in late February. Talking its price, the company has confirmed the upcoming Nokia 5G smartphone will be priced around $500 at the time of launch which roughly translates to Rs 35,499. Juho Sarvikas told Digital Trends that the company wants to enter the 5G market by bringing 5G to a more affordable segment.
