Free Google One VPN for Pixel 7 Series: Here’s How to Get It?

At its ‘Made by Google” event, Google announced the features for the Pixel 7 series and the Pixel Watch. To recall, the Pixel 7 series was announced on October 6 in India. A VPN feature was also announced at the Made by Google event, which users are excited about and waiting for when their device will receive the same. Google also promised that the Pixel 7 series would receive a free VPN feature in the coming months via an update.

What is a VPN?

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network, which helps to build a secure connection between your computer or device and the internet. It establishes a solid and robust network connection when using public networks. VPNs are encrypted, meaning your internet traffic and online activities will be completely safe, secure, and private. This results in no data theft, and hackers, attackers, and third-party developers cannot track your online activities.

When will the Google One VPN feature be available on Pixel 7 devices?

The VPN feature has been rolled out before its scheduled release time for the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro users. On their support page, Google adds the list of the countries or regions where the feature will be available via the update.

The list includes regions like Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States.

Apart from the Pixel 7 series users, the feature will also be available to Google One subscribers. The subscribers with 2TB of Google One storage, which costs $9.99 monthly, will be eligible for the VPN feature. Google also said that the VPN feature will still work if you travel from one country to another, provided that the country should be from the above-given list of regions if you have VPN enabled by Google One.

How do you get the Google One VPN feature?

  • Update your device to have support for the VPN feature.
  • Open the Google One application on your Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro device.
  • The pop-up will show, “Your Pixel comes with VPN by Google One. Manage the VPN in the Google One app.” Note – The information will be delivered to you only once; take care of that.

  • You can manage the VPN feature by opening the Google One application every time. To do that, follow the below-given steps:
    • Go to the Google One application on your Pixel 7 series.
    • Tap on the bottom of the display.
    • Search for the VPN feature there.
    • View details.
    • Manage your VPN feature.

The app will hide your online activities, tracking with the help of the Android VPN feature if you hide your IP address. You can also be immune to hackers, attackers, and third-party firms on unprotected connections like public Wi-Fi, charging ports on trains, etc.

The Pixel 7 series users can also add a quick toggle to their Quick Settings to instantly change the settings of their VPN, or you can directly access the feature by heading to Settings > Network and Internet > VPN.

If you are worried about your privacy, the company primarily confirmed that they would not use your VPN connection to track or sell your online activities.
