Samsung SM-J250x to Be Known as Galaxy J2 (2018); not Galaxy J2 Pro 2018

South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is gearing up for a Galaxy J-series smartphone in 2018. The device was spotted in GeekBench and GFXBench with model no SM-J250x (x for F and G). The device was speculated to be named Galaxy J2 Pro 2018, but according to the new Bluetooth authentication of the device, it will be called Galaxy J2 (2018), eliminating the protag as thought before.

The device with model numbers SM-J250F, SM-J250F / DS, SM-J250G, SM-J250G / DS, and SM-J250M has been Bluetooth certified, and the authentication page mentions the device name as Samsung Galaxy J2 2018, which is also written as J2 (2018). If you remember correctly, the J2 (2017) was launched just two months ago in India.

Galaxy J2 (2018) is not shrouded in mystery. Earlier this month, a few renders and a 360-degree video surfaced online. Also, even the device manual was uploaded to the Samsung official website. After so many leaks and rumors, we have rounded up some device specs.

The device will feature a 5-inch display and will be powered by Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 430 SoC. It will offer 2 GB of RAM coupled with 16 GB of ROM, of which we will be getting only 11 GB for ourselves. The memory is expandable by micro SD. There will be an 8 MP camera on the rear and 5 MP on the front. Both the cameras will have LED flash and features like face detection, HDR, and 1080p recording. The device runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is likely to carry a bit more improved than the 2000 mAh battery on the 2017 Galaxy J2. Connectivity options include Bluetooth and WiFi and sensors like GPS proximity sensor, accelerometer, and altimeter.

This Bluetooth authentication and the appearance of the manual suggest the launch is at the door. We can expect the device to be launched in early 2018.
