How to Enable Samsung Screen Mirroring on Chromecast and Android TVsĀ

The process can often be confusing if you want to enable Samsung screen mirroring on Chromecast or an Android TV. But don’t worry; you are in the right place.

Here, we’ll dive into enabling this setting on Samsung phones so you can use the convenient screen mirroring it provides. Let’s get started!

You need to use Samsung’s official Smart View app to enable Samsung screen mirroring on Chromecast or an Android TV. This app allows you to mirror your Samsung phone to your TV and more.

Smart View is compatible with Samsung TVs without additional setup because it is built on Miracast, although it does not directly support mirroring on Chromecast or Android TVs.

But a secret feature on Samsung phones enables Google Cast (discovered by Android Police) to mirror your phone’s screen on Chromecast and Android TV.

Steps to Mirror Samsung Phone to Chromecast and Android TV

  • Swipe down to access the Quick Settings menu.
  • Swipe through the menus and long-press the toggle labeled “Smart View.”
  • After this, the Smart View page will open. Tap on the three dots in the top right.
  • Now tap on Settings.
  • Tap “About Smart View” at the bottom of the Settings menu. This will take you to the Smart View About page. You should be able to see the Smart View version number here.
  • Tap on the version number or “Smart View” ten times continuously.
  • When asked for a password, enter #00rtsp00 and tap OK.

  • This will open up the developer options for Smart View. Find the “Google Cast” option and turn on the toggle next to it.
