Samsung Galaxy A52s Receives One UI 6.0 Beta

Samsung Galaxy A52s Receives One UI 6 Beta

The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is a midrange smartphone released by Samsung in September 2021. It is the successor to the Galaxy A52 5G launched earlier that year. Although this model had only slightly changed the name, it had noticeably improved the internals from its predecessor.

The Galaxy A52s came packed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, based on the TSMC 6nm architecture. This processor was a drastic upgrade in every aspect from its predecessor, which had the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G. It’s much better than the A52 4G with the 720G SOC. The 778G’s performance is similar to the latest Galaxy A54, with the Exynos 1380.

The Galaxy A52s also has an upgraded primary camera with a new 64MP sensor. It also supports optical image stabilization for sharp photos and stable videos. The secondary cameras of the phone include a 12MP Ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Regarding the display, the phone had a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120hz. For the battery, the phone came packed with a 4500 mAh cell, the same as its predecessor. Like the battery, the phone’s charging stayed at 25W.

For the software, the phone came with Android 11 with Samsung’s One UI 3 skin on top. The phone was updated to Android 12 with One UI 4 the next year and Android 13 with One UI 5 the year after, which is this year.

Now, Samsung has released the One UI 6 beta for the Galaxy A52s. A few days ago, Samsung also released the One UI 6 beta for the budget Galaxy F23 and its rebrand Galaxy M23. This is an excellent move by Samsung to give on-time updates even to their old models. However, the Galaxy A52s beta is now restricted to the South Korean region, but other regions might join soon.

A52s Receives One UI 6

Samsung is beginning to deliver consistent Betas to even older budget and mid-range phones. It was confirmed that the A52s would get the One UI 6 Beta since it was previously spotted on Samsung’s servers. However, we didn’t know if Samsung would add it to the Beta program earlier. Once it rolls out to other regions, you can install the Beta on your device.

The promise was three years of major Android updates since it shipped with Android 11 out of the box. This is the final major Android update for the Galaxy A52s. After this, the phone will get security patches. One UI 6 brings significant changes like redesigning the Quick Toggles panel, wallpaper sync for focus modes, new widgets, and more.

We don’t know when the A52s will get the stable Android 14 update. The phone got the Android 13 update in November last year, so we can expect it to get the Android 13 update sometime this November. We don’t recommend installing a Beta on your primary device unless you’re a tester or developer.
