One UI 6 is Samsung’s 6th iteration of the One UI skin on top of Android. It is based on Android 14 and is expected to release in Q4 2023. This new One UI version is expected to add various new features and improve the software to enhance the user experience. Some key new features and changes of One UI 6:
New Font: One UI 6 will come with a new design language called “One Sans.” This will give the UI a more modern and minimalistic look.
Improved Privacy and Security: One UI 6 will also enhance the privacy and security of your Samsung device. There will be a new permission manager, which will give you more control over the apps that have access to your data.
Improved Multitasking: It will now be easier to manage pop-up windows, and there will be new features for split-screen multitasking.
New Quick Settings Panel: One UI 6 will bring a brand new Quick settings panel for a refreshing look for the users.
Other new features: Besides these changes, there will also be various small refinements throughout the UI. The UI might bring AI features to the gallery, like Object Eraser and Photo Remaster. Furthermore, Samsung Studio has received new features like a Multi-layer video editor. This will help you to add stickers, text, and music to the video clips.
Last week, we got the One UI 6 Beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. The Galaxy S23 lineup was the first to receive the Beta since they’re the latest flagship phones from the company. Last year’s Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 in South Korea are getting the Beta firmware. Even the mid-range Galaxy F23 with the Snapdragon 750G chipset is getting the Android 14 Beta.
We don’t know when Samsung will launch the One UI 6 Beta outside Korea, so reaching other countries might take a few weeks. For the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5, only USA and India models got the One UI 6 Beta. It’s unclear when the EU and other regions will receive the Beta updates. You can still sideload the One UI 6 Beta on supported countries if you want to, but this is risky.
The Galaxy F23 (Indian version of Galaxy M23) has the same 750G chip and overall specifications. It got the Android 13 update in December 2022, and the One UI 6 Beta is available to download for the F23. If you want to install the Beta on your phone, download the Samsung Members app and wait until it notifies you. We don’t endorse the use of betas on your primary device. We recommend waiting for the stable version unless you’re a developer or tester.
