Nubia Z18 Mini Goes Official with 5.7 inch Display and 6 GB RAM

Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE sub-brand Nubia has unveiled its first Z18 Series smartphone. Dubbed the Nubia Z18 mini, the smartphone is in the upper mid-range segment. The smartphone is available in White, Light Blue, Purple, and Pink variants.

The Nubia Z18 mini features a glass sandwiched body with Gorilla Glass on either side of the aluminum frame. It sports a 5.7-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of (2160 x 1080 pixels). It is powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with 6 GB of RAM. It offers 64 GB and 128 GB internal storage variants.

On the optical specs, the device sports a dual camera set up at the back consisting of a 24 MP primary sensor of f/1.7 aperture and a 5 MP secondary camera with NewVision 7.0. On the front, it offers an 8 MP camera sensor of f/2.0 aperture and an 80-degree wide-angle field of view for selfies and video calling. The dual cameras can do portrait shots while the front can scan up to facial points, offering Facial unlocking along with some AI beauty-enhancing features. There is a circular fingerprint sensor at the back for additional security purposes.

The Z18 mini runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 3,450 mAh battery. There is a ZTE-owned AI on the device called NeoSmart AI, which also has a dedicated voice button. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and Glonass. Sensors on board include a Light Sensor, Distance Sensor, Compass, Gyroscope, and more. It measures 140 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm and weighs 153 grams.

As for the price, the ZTE Nubia Z18 mini comes at a price tag of CNY 1,799 (Rs 18,700 approx) for the 64 GB variant, while the 128 GB variant costs CNY 2,099 (Rs 21,800 approx), there is a limited Provence Edition in Purple color which costs CNY 2199 (Rs 22,800 approx). The pre-orders have already started, and sales will begin from April 19 in China. There is no word from the company about the launch in foreign markets.
