Today, Chinese smartphone manufacturing company Lenovo launched the Lenovo S5 smartphone at a media event in China. The Lenovo S5 features a full metallic body that is made up of series 6,000 aluminum. The device sports a smooth touch since the metallic body is created through 7 CNC processes: nano-injection molding followed by grinding, sandblasting, diamond trimming, and anodizing. It is available in two color variants: Red and Black.
The Lenovo S5 features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD 2D curved display with a resolution of FHD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) and an 18:9 aspect ratio. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset powers it. It is available in 3 GB and 4 GB RAM options and 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB internal storage options. There is also the option to expand the memory up to 128 GB using a micro SD card.
The S5 sports a dual camera setup of two 13 MP sensors with autofocus, an f/2.2 aperture, and a dual camera flash. The presence of dual cameras helps in depth-of-field effects like the Bokeh effect. It offers a 16 MP fixed focus camera with f/2.2 aperture and an 80.2-degree wide-angle lens on the front.
The device runs on ZUI 3.7 based on Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery support for fast charging (10W). Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB TYPE-C, dual SIM, and more. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, proximity sensor, and a fingerprint sensor at the rear, which claims its response time as 0.09 seconds with 99.7% accuracy. It measures 154 x 73.5 x 7.8 mm and weighs 155 grams.
As for the pricing, the 3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM model costs CNY 999 (Rs 10,000 approx), while the 3 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM variant costs CNY 1,19 (Rs 12,000 approx).
