iQOO 8 to pack a 2K 10-bit LTPO panel and 4500mAh battery: Report

Previously, we had some alleged information about the charging speed of iQOO 8. i.e.; it will come with a 160W whopping charging support. The company has now officially confirmed that it will launch the iQOO 8 smartphones in China on the 4th of August. The official teaser is already out; some of them highlight the display of the device, which hints towards the top-notch display of iQOO 8. We now have a piece of information that reveals the battery and display specifications of the device.

The Digital Chat Station on the Chinese Microblogging platform, Weibo, has tipped the battery capacity of iQOO 8. According to DIGITAL CHAT STATION, the iQOO 8 will pack a 4500mAh battery with 120W wired charging support. The following information is pretty different from what we had before. This information tells us that iQOO 8 will have 120W charging support, while previous reports tell us it will have 160W fast wire charging support.

Going through the second report via Gizmochina, the tipster from China has reported that iQOO 8 will offer an LTP Panel with 10-bit color, 2k QHD+ resolution, and a 120Hz high refresh rate. We have seen the same display in the OnePlus 9 Pro smartphone. The LTPO panel can switch between 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate, depending upon the situation, which is pretty much useful for saving the battery life. An LTPO panel can save up to 15% of battery life compared to a normal 120Hz refresh rate panel. So, the combination of 4500mAh battery+LTPO Panel+120W/160W charging is hinting towards the high-end specifications of the device.

Also, it has been rumored that iQOO 8 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset. A leaked screenshot of the iQOO 8 suggests that it will have one 12GB RAM+256GB ROM variant, and it will boot up on Android 11 right out of the box. To know more about the device, we have to wait till the ChinaJoy conference, where the device will be showcased.
