Upcoming Phones May 2023: Poco F5, Realme 11, iQOO Neo 8, Pixel 7a & More

The smartphone launches are taking pace for their number of launches per month. The last month witnessed so many smartphones; May will likely be the same. Some major brands will participate in May month for their smartphone launches. Not to mention, companies like Apple and Samsung will likely not launch any phones this month. However, Samsung’s pending launches for the smartphones already announced in some countries will happen in some new regions this month.

The upcoming phones for May will be available in a wide price range. As always, China will witness more launches as it is the home country for many brands. Smartphones Expected to Launch in May 2023:

Poco F5 Series:

The series will include two smartphones: F5 & F5 Pro. The smartphones will launch in India on May 9 at 8 PM GMT+8. The regular F5 will be rebranded as Redmi Note 12 Turbo and is expected to be priced at around ₹30,000.

Realme 11 Series:

The upcoming smartphones from the popular number series from realme will launch in China on May 10 at 4 PM GMT+8. The series will include Realme 11, Realme 11 Pro, and Realme 11 Pro Plus. The premium variant, realme 11 Pro Plus, will have a 200MP HP3 OIS camera and the newly announced MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset.

Google Pixel Fold & Pixel 7A:

The Pixel Fold will be the company’s first foldable smartphone. The inner and outer screens are expected to be 7.6 inches and 5.8 inches, respectively. On the contrary, the Pixel 7a will likely offer an upgraded 90Hz display, a Tensor G2 chipset, a 64MP OIS camera, and more. Both smartphones will be unveiled on May 10 at 10 AM PT at Google I/O.

Sony Xperia 1V:

According to leaks, the smartphone will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a 4K 120Hz OLED display, a powerful triple camera setup at the rear, a 5000mAh battery, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is scheduled to launch on May 11 at 6 AM CEST.

Motorola Razr 2023 Series and Moto Edge 40:

The Razr series will be split into two models: Razr 40 & Razr 40 Ultra. The ultra variant will have the largest cover/external display on a clamshell foldable. On the other hand, the Edge 40 will come with a leather back, Mediatek Dimensity 8020, 144Hz OLED display, 50MP primary camera, 4400mAh battery with 68W fast charging and 15W wireless charging, water resistance, and more. The launch for both devices is expected around May or the end of early June.

Honor 90 Series:

The series will comprise Honor 90 & Honor 90 Pro. The smartphones are expected to launch in May but can also launch in June. The Honor 90 Pro is expected to have a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a 1.5K Curved OLED display, and a 200MP primary camera.

iQOO Neo 8 Series:

The series will include iQOO Neo 8 & iQOO Neo 8 Pro (the first Pro model in the Neo series). The iQOO Neo 8 will be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and the Neo 8 Pro will be powered by Dimensity 9200+. Both devices will have a 120Hz OLED display and a 50MP primary camera. While there are no official announcements regarding the launch, the smartphones are expected to debut in China in May.

Realme Narzo N53:

The realme Narzo N53 will be the second smartphone in their N series after the launch of the Narzo N55. The smartphone has no specifications leaked so far, but it will be available in two configurations: 4GB + 64GB & 6GB + 128GB, along with two color variants: Feather Black and Feather Gold. The device will possibly launch in May in India and will start under ₹13,000 INR.

Tecno Camon 20 Series:

The series will include Tecno Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro & Camon 20 Premier 5G and will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85, Helio G99, and Dimensity 1200, respectively. The 5G variant will have a 120Hz AMOLED display and 108MP primary camera with sensor-shift OIS.

Infinix Note 30 Series:

The series will likely consist of four devices: Infinix Note 30 5G, Note 30 VIP, Note 30 Pro & Note 30i. The Note 30 5G & Note 30 VIP will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 810 and unannounced Dimensity 8050, respectively and the remaining two variants will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio G99 and Helio G85, respectively. The VIP model will have a 108MP primary camera, 5000mAh battery, and 68W fast charging.

LAVA Agni 2 5G:

The smartphone will launch in India in May. It will be powered by Dimensity 1080, 120Hz Curved AMOLED display, 50MP primary camera, and 5000mAh battery with 44W fast charging. It will likely be priced under ₹20,000.

Vivo S17 Series:

The series will have three smartphones: Vivo S17, Vivo S17 Pro & Vivo S17e. The smartphones will be powered by Snapdragon 778G/782G, Dimensity 8200, and Dimensity 7200, respectively. The series will come with camera improvements and 80W charging support and will likely launch in China in May.

Vivo Y78 5G and Vivo Y36:

These two smartphones will launch in China in May, and Y36 will see an Indian launch as well. The 5G model will be powered by Snapdragon 695 & will likely cost ¥1500, and the 4G model will be powered by Snapdragon 680 and will likely cost ₹20,000.

Oppo Reno 10 Series:

The series will include three devices: Oppo Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro & Reno 10 Pro Plus. As always, the series will be beautifully designed and have a better and improved camera. The smartphones will be powered by the Snapdragon 778G, Dimensity 8200, and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The smartphones are expected to launch in China in May.

Oppo A98 5G and another A series device:

Oppo A98 5G will come with a Snapdragon 695, 5000mAh battery with 67W charging. The unnamed A series device will be similar to the Oppo A1, excluding the cameras. The smartphones are expected to debut in May, and the 5G variant will soon be announced in India.
