While rumor mills are talking about the iPhone 17 series and its new slim member, the iPhone 17 Air, a fresh leak has revealed interesting insight on display tech for 2026’s iPhone 18 Pro series.
Apple is reportedly working on a major display upgrade for the iPhone 18 Pro series. According to tipster Jukanlosreve on X, the iPhone 18 Pro could feature the LTPO+ panel, a new and improved version of the current LTPO tech. This means better brightness, longer battery life, and smoother transitions.

Presumably, this will build on the benefits Apple introduced with LTPO displays in previous iPhone models, starting from the iPhone 13 Pro series. For reference, LTPO panels have already allowed Apple to include ProMotion, which gives users adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz, making animations and scrolling smoother.
LTPO also made the Always-On Display feature possible in the iPhone 14 Pro series or later. LTPO saved battery life by lowering the refresh rate during less demanding tasks like reading static content.
If the LTPO+ panel rumors are true, the iPhone 18 Pro will offer better brightness and power management. Ultimately, the new panels will make the user experience even more seamless, especially for high-demand tasks like gaming or video playback.
But will LTPO+ make it to market in time for the iPhone 18 Pro release? If true, it will be the next big thing in display tech. So expect even more amazing displays in Apple flagship devices soon.
