Huawei sub-brand Honor like promised rolled out EMUI 8.0 update based on Android 8.0 Oreo for two of its smartphones, the Honor 9 and Honor 8 pro. Honor 9 is yet to launch in India, but the update will reach the other market like the UK. As for the Honor 8 Pro, Indian customers have already started receiving this update. For the update you just have to go to Settings > System update > and click on the update. It is advisable to back up your data for any data loss.
The new EMUI 8 update for the two Honor smartphones comes with machine learning base with cool features like Awareness, User Behaviour, Intelligent Resource Allocation and more. Moreover, it also contains additional perks like low memory management and quick file sharing abilities. It’s likely to include functional features like one hand operation navigation dock, private space optimisation, access to recently deleted items and dynamic wallpaper. Along with these the Honor 8 Pro and the Honor 9 will get the benefits of the Android 8.0 Oreo-like notification dots, autofill passwords, Picture-in-Picture, and the latest security patch.
The company has also announced that it will also release the Oreo update for the Honor 8, Honor 9i and Honor 8 Lite. As per the rumour Honor will also update the Honor 7X and will be incorporating the facial unlocking feature into the package. Though there is no way to confirm if the rumour is genuine, if it is true, it will bring facial recognition to the mid-range segment.
Honor 8 pro is a mid-premium segment smartphone with a price tag of Rs 25,999 while the Honor 9 costs 299.95 euros (Rs 27,000 approx) in the United Kingdom.
