The Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup is expected to be launched in early 2025. Now, leaks have already started circulating on the web.
A trusted source named Ice Universe (via X/@UniverseIce) shared new info about the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s cameras. The upgrades seem focused on certain parts instead of being overall improvements.
The big change is in the ultra-wide camera. The S25 Ultra could get a new 50-megapixel 0.7µm ISOCELL JN3 sensor (1/2.52″ sensor and an F1.9 aperture). This could mean much-improved images, especially when taking wide-angle photos or in low-light settings.

The predecessor Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 1/2.55″ sensor and 1.4µm pixels. So we can clearly notice the difference – the higher resolution and updated pixel size. The ultra-wide lens’s photo quality could be as stunning as the main lens’s.
Other parts of the camera don’t seem very different. The main camera will still use the 200-megapixel HP2 sensor with a slight processing upgrade.
Galaxy S25 Ultra camera specifications have been confirmed.
The only upgrade is the ultra-wide-angle sensor, 50MP 0.7um ISOCELL JN3 sensor, the main camera 200MP HP2 (small process upgrade model unchanged), 3x is still 10MP IMX754, 5x is still IMX854 50MP 0.7 um— ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) September 9, 2024
The telephoto lenses will keep their current specs. So, we can expect a 10-megapixel IMX754 sensor with 3x zoom and a 50-megapixel IMX854 sensor with 5x zoom, both using 0.7 µm pixels.
People who hoped for a major overhaul might feel disappointed. But if you love wide-angle shots – like landscapes or group photos – the better ultra-wide sensor is definitely good news.
With a stronger ultra-wide sensor and small updates to the main sensor, this phone is going to be a strong contender in mobile photography.
