Galaxy S23 FE Battery Certification Hints at Imminent Launch

Samsung launches several new phones each year. These phones come under different lineups, ranging from entry-level to ultra flagships. One of these lineups is the Fan Edition series, commonly known as the FE series. Samsung launched it under the Galaxy S naming.

However, there were several reports of Samsung ditching the Fan Edition series smartphones for good last year. And to add, Samsung skipped the Galaxy S22 FE for unknown reasons. The last phone in the FE series we saw was the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. It was announced in January last year and has been received very well by the masses.

But things are likely going to change this year. Several leaks in the past few months have continuously indicated that Samsung plans to revive the FE series with the Galaxy S23 FE. One more piece of data taking rounds on the internet confirms that the Galaxy S23 FE is indeed coming.

The battery of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE listed online

A recent certification on Safety Korea has turned out to be that of the battery, which will potentially be used in the Galaxy S23 FE. The listing shows the model number of the battery to be EB-BS711ABY. This is in line with the leaked model number of the Galaxy S23 FE (SM-S711).

The battery is manufactured by Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL), a battery manufacturing company based in China.

The certification does not reveal the battery capacity, but past leaks suggest a 4500 mAh cell. These leaks also indicate that the phone will support up to 25W charging.

We can expect to see the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE at the second Unpacked event of this year, along with the foldables. It is Samsung’s biggest biannual event and will likely be held towards the end of July.
