Samsung Galaxy S23 FE: Release Date, Specifications & Price in the US, UK, Canada

The Galaxy S23 FE might come with a larger display than the Galaxy S22

Samsung recently unveiled its new flagship S series of Galaxy smartphones, including Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Every year since 2020, Samsung also launches an FE version of their latest flagship S series. FE stands for “Fan Edition”. There are two phones in the FE series as of now, the Galaxy S20 FE and the Galaxy S21 FE. Therefore, we can expect the next Galaxy FE to launch in a few months.

History of the Samsung Galaxy FE Series

Samsung began the FE (Fan Edition) series with the Galaxy S20 FE in 2020. This was one of the best smartphones of 2020. It brought to the table most of the flagship features and design at a cheaper price than the real flagship phones. Moreover, it was launched right between the Galaxy S20 and S21 series. People seemed to like this, and this led to it becoming one of the most popular smartphones of the year.

The story was not the same for the Galaxy S21 FE. It was launched just one month before the launch of the Galaxy S22 series, which made it seem outdated in just one month. This was because the Galaxy S22 was released at the same price as the Galaxy S21 FE. The Galaxy S22 was just superior in all aspects. This led to the failure of the Galaxy S21 FE.

Samsung May Ditch Galaxy S22 FE: Galaxy S23 FE is On the Way

A report by The Elec suggests Samsung may not launch the Galaxy S22 FE in favour of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Due to the chip shortage issue, the company wants to focus on its premium S22 Ultra. Instead of releasing the S22 FE this year, the company will launch the Galaxy S23 FE next year. Initially, the company plans to produce 3 million units of the S23 FE.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Release Date

  • Samsung might release the Galaxy S23 FE in January 2023 alongside Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra.

We do not have any official information regarding the release date of the Galaxy S23 FE as of now. We don’t even know if Samsung will release the Galaxy S23 FE. But if we look at the history of Samsung, we should see the Galaxy S23 FE in a few months.

We see the Galaxy S lineup launched in either January or February each year. If Samsung plans to include S23 FE in the Galaxy S23 family (S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra), we can expect the Galaxy S23 FE to release in January 2023.
