We are only a short wait away from the Consumer Electronics Show 2025, and things are starting to heat up. Just yesterday, RubyRapids shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), giving us our first look at the box of one of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards. In particular, the box in the image belongs to the GALAX GeForce RTX 5080.
The dimensions of the box are approximately 403 x 279 x 89mm. The design will likely be a triple fan one since AIBs usually prefer to release their flagship offerings at launch. We cannot gather any further significant details due to the low resolution and small size of the image.
While the box does not look too different from its predecessors, this finding indicates that the RTX 5080 might be the first card that NVIDIA announces at CES 2025. NVIDIA usually launches its highest-end GPUs first, so it is not yet clear why they are planning to launch the RTX 5080 before the RTX 5090 this time around.
Things will hopefully clear up as the event starts, which is scheduled from January 7th to January 10th, 2025. Also, the leak is very much true since Videocardz confirmed the same with GALAX.
The RTX 5080, with a GB203 GPU, will expectedly feature 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM. This will be on a 256-bit memory bus with a memory bandwidth of about 960 GB/s. The total board power will likely sit around 400W.
Interestingly, the RTX 5080 is likely going to be the only RTX 50 series card to feature 30 Gbps of memory speed. The rest will supposedly have 28 Gbps of the same. We will learn about the rest at the event.
