NVIDIA RTX 5090 might have a 70% performance gain over its predecessor

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025) is scheduled to be held from January 7th to January 10th. And as we approach those dates, we are looking forward to a handful of announcements.

One of these is NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series graphics cards. This year, we have seen a fairly small number of leaks about the performance of these GPUs. But we do have a new one now. This new leak says that the top-of-the-line RTX 5090 will outperform its predecessor by up to 70%.

The leak comes from popular leaker OneRaichu on X (via digitaltrends), who has a good track record when it comes to accuracy. In response to another post, the leaker mentions a 60-70% increase in performance for the flagship products.

The high-level and midrange products will also supposedly get a considerable performance boost, although not as much. The leaker claims up to 40% better performance for the former and up to 30% for the latter.

As of now, it would be safe to say that ‘flagship’ here refers to the RTX 5090, and ‘high level’ is the RTX 5080. The midrange possibly refers to the RTX 5060 and the RTX 5070. However, it is currently unclear where the products like the Ti models of these cards lie.

We are just three weeks away from the event, so we do not have to wait long before these things become a bit more clear.
