Smartphone manufacturers have started using MediaTek’s two mid-range chipsets, Helio G95 and Dimensity 700. The G95 is a gaming-centric processor introduced under the Helio series, while the Dimensity 700 is for budget 5G smartphones. We have seen Helio G95 powered phones such as Realme Narzo 20 Pro, Realme 7, Redmi Note 10S, and Realme 8. 5G phones such as Realme 8 5G, Oppo A53s 5G, and Poco M3 Pro 5G packs Dimensity 700 SoC. However, in terms of pricing, we see a similar price tag in the Indian market for all of these devices. So, you should know their differences in terms of CPU, GPU, etc. Here, we have made a detailed comparison between these two SoCs to determine which is better.
MediaTek Dimensity 700 vs Helio G95 Comparison
CPU
The Helio G95 SoC is built using TSMC’s 12nm node, whereas the Dimensity 700 SoC uses TSMC’s 7nm node technology. So we see MediaTek’s 700 SoC is more power-efficient compared to G95. Both chipsets are based on a 64-bit octa-core CPU. The Dimensity 700 comes with two ARM Cortex-A76 large cores, which are clocked at 2.20 GHz, and the other six ARM Cortex-A55 small cores run at 2.00 GHz. On the other hand, Helio G95 also comes with similar ARM cores and arrangement; however, here, two Cortex-A76 performance cores are assigned at 2.05 GHz, but the remaining six cores run the same clock speed, i.e. 2.00 GHz. Due to its higher clock speed, Dimensity 700 offers better CPU performance than G95.
GPU
Dimensity 700 has Mali-G57 GPU MC2, which is assigned to run at 950 MHz, whereas Helio G95 has ARM Mali G76 3EEMC4 GPU with a maximum clock speed of 900 MHz. Dimensity 700’s graphics processing unit (GPU) has a higher clock speed. The difference is the 50 MHz higher clocked graphics card. However, Helio G95’s Mali-G76 can offer better performance. Even Antutu v8’s GPU result suggests the same. So, in the GPU department, Helio G95 is the clear winner.

Which one is better?
In the Antutu v8 test, as per the Notebookcheck report, Realme 8 5G (8GB) with Dimensity 700 scored 261067 points, while Realme 7 (8GB) managed to get 295778 points. The differential gap is 13.29%. So, in terms of overall performance, Helio G95 is the winner. If you are looking for a gaming-centric phone, go with Helio G95. Those who are looking for a budget 5G phone, as well as better power efficiency, can consider Dimensity 700-powered smartphones.
