Honor 10 Announced with 6 GB RAM and Dual Cameras

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has announced the flagship smartphone  Honor 10 smartphone in China as promised. The smartphone sports a curved glass body in a unique Purple color. It is achieved by applying several layers of NCVM optical coatings underneath the glass back so that when light falls on the surface, it refracts and creates a beautiful change of hue.

As for the specs, the Honor 10 sports a 5.84-inch 2.5D curved display with a resolution of FHD+ (2240 x 1080 pixels) and a 96% color gamut. It is powered by an Octa-core Huawei Kirin 970 10nm chipset with i7 co-processor and Mali G72 MP12 GPU coupled with 6 GB of RAM. It offers two internal storage variants: 64 GB and 128 GB.

In the optics department, the smartphone sports a dual camera setup at the rear consisting of 16 MP RGB primary camera sensors and a 24 MP monochromatic camera sensor with f/1.8 aperture and depth focus, PDAF, CAF, and more. The front offers a 24 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. The Kirin 970 chipset means the smartphone has AI technology that can accurately identify animals, grass, sky, and people. The front camera also has AI beautification and supports Face Unlocking.

The smartphone runs on EMUI 8.1, built on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, and is backed by a 3,400 mAh battery with support for fast charging, which the company claims charges from 0 to 15 % in just 25 minutes. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.5 GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C, Dual SIM and more. Sensors on board include an infrared sensor, proximity, and accelerometer. The device measures 149.6 x 71.2 x 7.7 mm and weighs 153 g.

The smartphone is available in Black, Blue, and Purple color options and will be available for order from today until April 26 and will go on sale from April 27. As for the pricing, the lower 64 GB internal storage variant costs 2599 Yuan, while the higher 128 GB internal storage variant comes at a price tag of 2999 Yuan. It will compete against premium mid-range flagships like Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S at this price.
