AMD Radeon RX 7400 & RX 7300 “RDNA 3” GPUs May Soon Hit the Market

There has been a lot of activity in the graphics card industry lately. We have been hearing about new developments from major companies. NVIDIA, for instance, is planning to launch a new variant of their GeForce RTX 4070 soon.

Conversely, AMD is set to launch its Radeon RX 8000 series graphics cards in 2025. But before that, it seems like AMD still has a couple of products to add to their Radeon RX 7000 series.

Leak Reveals AMD’s Plan for Two Budget RX 7000 Series GPUs

A leaker recently shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that AMD is planning to launch two new graphics cards — the Radeon RX 7300 and the Radeon RX 7400.

These are going to be pocket-friendly gaming GPUs, falling somewhere around the sub-$ 250 range. This is considering the price of the Radeon RX 7600, which started at $269 when it first came out. These cards will make for solid deals for gamers who are on a tight budget, given AMD does not cut too much of the performance.

In a follow-up post, the leaker also stated that these cards will be based on Navi 33 (or N33). The N33 chip was also featured on the Radeon RX 7600. In the same post, the leaker also mentions “0x7499”. This is a distinct device ID, which helps identify different graphics card models.

If we take a look at AMD’s listing of their open-source GPUOpen tools, we can see that this particular identifier corresponds to three different GPU models. Apart from all of this, there is not much to take away from this leak.

Radeon RX 7300 and RX 7400 Specifications

As for other specifications of these two graphics cards, there is no information. But we can take some educated guesses. Starting with the stream processors (cores), their count will be less than or equal to 2048 on the RX 7400, considering they were 2048 on both the RX 7600 and the RX 7600 XT. On the RX 7300, the number will most likely be lower.

The RX 7600 offers 8GB of GDDR6 virtual memory, which might be the same as the RX 7400. This number could also be lesser. Similarly, the RX 7300 is not very likely to get VRAM more than 6GB. Besides that, these cards will probably use GDDR6 memory. The total board power (TBP) could be around 150W for RX 7400 and 100W for RX 7300. For context, the RX 7600 features a TBP of 165W.

Although there is not much to back these specifications up, it will not be far-fetched to say that AMD will keep them near these speculations. They have to manage things in a way that these new cards do not lack in any aspect compared to previous generations while also ensuring they do not harm the sales of the RX 7600.

We will see how things go once the launch happens. The launch date remains unclear for now.
