Xiaomi’s Redmi 7A Entry-Level Smartphone to Launch Globally

Last month, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched its entry-level smartphone called “Redmi 7A” in its home market of China. Now, the company is planning to launch Redmi 7A in the global market. Today, we have spotted the model number of its global variant in Thailand’s NBTC certification site. The NBTC listing reveals that the model number M1903C3EG is a global variant of Redmi 7A.

Apart from NBTC, the model number M1903C3EG has also received certification from other countries’ certification agencies, including EEC in Europe, IMDA in Singapore, and TKDN in Indonesia, hinting at its imminent launch.

Redmi 7A Certification

As of now, Xiaomi has not announced anything about Redmi 7A’s global launch officially. However, rumors suggest that the phone may launch in July 2019.

To recall, the specification of Redmi 7A includes a 5.45-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by an octa-core 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC coupled with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. There is a MicroSD card slot option that helps to expand the storage up to 256GB by inserting a MicroSD card.

For the optics, Redmi 7A sports a single 13MP rear with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. The front camera has a 5MP AI selfie shooter with AI Beauty mode. The phone lacks a fingerprint scanner, but it uses the front camera for AI Face unlock.

The phone is backed by a 4000 mAh battery, which offers a decent two-day-long backup, and it carries a charging capability of 10W. It measures 146.30×70.41×9.55 mm and weighs 150 grams. The phone runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. Connectivity options on the 7A include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, a headphone jack (3.5mm), a micro USB port, and FM Radio.
