In September last year, Chinese OEM Vivo unveiled its budget smartphone Vivo Y19. Now, the company is planning to launch its successor which will probably be called Vivo Y20. Today, the device has been spotted on Indonesia’s certification database. The listing shows Vivo Y20 will carry V2027 model number. Apart from confirming the moniker, the listing has not revealed its key details.
Recently, Vivo Y20’s model V2027 has also appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform revealing some of its key details. The listing shows the device will run on Android 10 OS and 1.8 GHz octa-core Qualcomm processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. Also, we can see the motherboard code name as “Bengal”. So, the processor should be either Snapdragon 662 or Snapdragon 460.
Now, the only way to verify the chipset name is accessing source codes of V2027’s benchmark listing. So, when we checked the source codes we found SoC details as follows:
CPU: 4 Core @ 1.61 GHz + 4 Core @ 1.80 GHz
GPU: Adreno 610
This configuration belongs to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 460 chipset that was unveiled back in January. Qualcomm has said that phones with Snapdragon 460 SoC will arrive in the market by the end of 2020. So, Vivo may announce its upcoming Vivo Y20 soon with Snapdragon 460 processor.
Other specifications of Vivo Y20 are still unknown. But, we will try our best to find out the latest information from certification listings.
To recall, Vivo Y20’s predecessor Vivo Y19 came with Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P65 (MT6768) 12nm processor. In terms of display, we saw a 6.53-inch (2340 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ display. The Y19 was backed by a 5000 mAh (typical) battery with 18W fast charging support. For photography, it packed a 16MP primary camera with Sony IMX499 sensor. The Y19 was priced at Rs 13,999 for 4GB+128GB variant.
