Vivo may Launch its First S Series Phone Vivo S1 in Global Markets Soon

Vivo launched its first S-series smartphone, Vivo S1, in its home market of China in March 2019. Recently, the company has also added a new phone to its S-series for the Chinese market named the Vivo S1 Pro. However, the company has not announced whether the phone will be launched outside China. Now, the latest certification of a Vivo phone in multiple countries reveals that the Vivo S1 will soon be launched in the global markets.

The news about Vivo S1 for global markets became concrete after it received a certificate from the NBTC mobile authentication platform of Thailand. The model number associated with this device on the certificate is Vivo 1907. To recall, the model number corresponding to the Chinese variant of the S1 is Vivo 1831A/T. Unfortunately, this is as far as we get from NBTC regarding this Vivo device.

Apart from NBTC, the model number Vivo 1907 has also received certification from other countries’ certification agencies, including EEC in Europe and TKDN in Indonesia, hinting at its imminent launch for global markets.

To recall, Vivo S1 has a notch-less 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 90.95 percent and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. An octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 SoC with Mali-G72 GPU powers the phone. Vivo S1 has 4GB/6GB RAM and two storage options, i.e., 64GB and 128 GB.

With regards to optics, the Vivo S1 sports a triple rear camera setup comprising of 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8, backed by an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 wide-angle lens and 5-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4. On the camera front, it includes a 25-megapixel pop-up selfie shooter with f/2.0.

On the software front, the Vivo S1 runs Android 9 Pie with Funtouch OS 9. A non-removable Li-Po 3,940mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging backs it.
