An internal build of Samsung’s upcoming One UI 9 has surfaced, offering an early look at new Galaxy AI features expected to ship with Android 17. The build, reportedly running on a Galaxy S25+, was shared by Fahad Ali Javed on X, showcasing several UI changes and feature additions.
Among them is a new tool called “MyFanCam,” tucked under the Galaxy AI section. The name suggests something new. The functionality, at least in its current form, does not.
A familiar feature under a new name
Based on the leaked screenshots, MyFanCam appears to replicate what Samsung already offers as Auto Framing. That feature automatically keeps a subject centered in the frame during video recording, adjusting zoom and crop dynamically.

The MyFanCam description reads: “My FanCam keeps subjects front and center in your video, no matter how they move.” The wording is nearly identical to existing Auto Framing explanations across Samsung devices.
That overlap raises questions. Either Samsung is rebranding Auto Framing under its broader Galaxy AI umbrella, or the company is layering additional intelligence on top of the existing system.
The latter seems more likely.
Where Galaxy AI might step in
Samsung has been steadily expanding Galaxy AI capabilities across imaging, productivity, and system-level features. Tools like Photo Assist and Audio Eraser already rely on on-device processing combined with cloud-backed models.
If MyFanCam is part of that push, the upgrade could be less about what it does and more about how well it does it.
Improved subject tracking is one possibility. Current Auto Framing can struggle with multiple subjects or fast motion, occasionally shifting focus unpredictably. AI-backed detection could allow the system to prioritize faces, recognize specific individuals, or maintain smoother framing transitions.
There’s also room for contextual awareness. A smarter system could adapt framing based on scene type, whether it’s a group shot, a single speaker, or a moving subject in low light.
None of that is confirmed in the leaked build. The UI alone doesn’t reveal backend changes.
Context within One UI 9
The same build shows One UI 9 running on Android 17, alongside a refreshed quick settings panel, updated widgets, and expanded Galaxy AI menus. The software version listed in the leak suggests this is an early internal build rather than a near-final release.
That matters. Features at this stage are often placeholders, renamed, or even removed entirely before public rollout.
Samsung has also been consolidating its AI branding. Features that previously existed as standalone tools are increasingly grouped under Galaxy AI, even if their core functionality hasn’t changed significantly.
MyFanCam could be part of that broader reorganization.
What it means for users
If MyFanCam ends up as a direct replacement for Auto Framing, the change may go unnoticed by most users. The experience would remain largely the same, just positioned differently in the camera interface.
If Samsung is upgrading the underlying tech, the impact could be more tangible. Better tracking, fewer framing errors, and more consistent results would address some of the current feature’s limitations.
There’s also the possibility of deeper integration with other Galaxy AI tools, especially in video editing or live streaming scenarios.
Samsung hasn’t acknowledged the feature publicly. That leaves open questions around availability, device support, and whether MyFanCam will remain part of One UI 9 when it reaches beta.
The naming suggests something new. The behavior, so far, suggests otherwise. Whether that gap closes will depend on what Samsung adds behind the scenes before release.
