Samsung is all geared for this year’s S-series flagship smartphones. The two smartphones S9 and the S9 Plus has been the subject of multiple leaks and specifications, and so inevitably, an image of a Galaxy S9 alleged retail box surface online revealing the specs of the smartphone.
According to the retail box, the Galaxy S9 will sport a 5.8 inch curved infinity display. From the previous leaks, we know it will have the same 18:5:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, it reveals that the device will be featuring a “Super Speed” 12 MP Dual Pixel camera with OIS( Optical Image Stabilisation). It will likely be the new 1.28 micrometre 12 MP ISOCELL Fast 2L9 sensor with Dual Pixel Technology that the company launched three months ago. It supports a variable aperture which offers f/1.5 for low light shots and f/2.4 for daylight. The box mentions the S9 will have slow motion features which line with the rumours that the device will be supporting 1000 fps slow-motion capabilities.
The Galaxy S9 will be powered by Samsung’s latest Exynos 9810 chip in the Chinese market, but like its predecessor, the company will be launching an international variant powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Soc. It will be coupled with 4 GB of Ram and 64 GB of internal storage. Other features include iris scanner; wireless charging andIP68 rated water and dust protection. Additionally, it will also come with Stereo Speakers tuned by AKG and a pair of headphones tuned by AKG will be shipped with the device.
Though it’s common to leak retail boxes before a smartphone launch, it’s still unclear whether the image of the retail box is genuine. The box though bears similarities with retail boxes of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8. From the comparisons, it looks the image authentic. Samsung has confirmed the device will be unveiled at MWC( Mobile World Congress) 2018 at Barcelona next month.
