Samsung Exynos 1200 mid-range chipset with AMD GPU is allegedly on the way

Compared to the past versions, the Exynos chipset has improved a lot. The Samsung Exynos 2100 chipset is a quite powerful chipset we have seen on the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. And now, Samsung is gearing up to launch their new Samsung Exynos 1200 chipset. This will be a powerful chipset available in mid-range smartphones. The company has started testing its new mid-range chipset.

Samsung Exynos 1200 could be in work.

The Galaxy Club has reported that Samsung has started working on its new mid-range chipset S5E8825, which will reportedly be the upcoming Samsung Exynos 1200 chipset. For those who’re unaware, the Samsung Exynos 2100 chip has model number S5E9840, and the upcoming flagship Exynos 2200 chipset has the model number S5E9925.

A few weeks before, Ice Universe suggested that Samsung would launch three Exynos chipsets: one will be the flagship 22xx chipset, one will be from the 12xx mid-range chipset, and one will be from the 8xx entry-level chipset.

So, this new report is aiming toward that hinted 12xx mid-range chipset. Apart from this, we don’t have much information about the upcoming Exynos chipset. However, it is expected that the Exynos 1200 chipset will be placed under the Exynos 2100 and above the Exynos 1080 chipset. The chipset will support the 5G network connectivity option. It could come with the AMD GPU, which will be powerful and might be the first AMB GPU on any smartphone.

It will be based on small fabrication technology like 5nm or 7nm. Most probably, it will be a 5nm-based chipset. The chipset might compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G or Snapdragon 860 chipset. Moreover, we could expect the chipset to be seen in smartphones costing around 550 USD. Apart from this, we don’t have any official information yet. The details about CPU, GPU, cores, and fabrication technology are still unknown. If we get any, we’ll update you as soon as possible.

  1. Samsung is trying hard to compete with SD and MTK. That’s actually a good initiative.
