Earlier, the Oppo phone with model number PEGM00 / PEGT00 was approved by the TENAA authority of China, which could be the new Oppo Reno 5. But a few hours back, a new smartphone surfaced on the Geekbench, and it appears to have a new model number, PDSM00, which is by Oppo. Rumors suggest that it could be the new high-end Oppo Reno 5 Pro. As per Geekbench, a number of specs can be seen for the new Reno 5 Pro.
It is seen that the Reno 5 Pro will have a MediaTek chipset with a base frequency of 2.0 GHz and the model number MT6889Z/CVA. The model number confirms that it is the new MediaTek Dimenisty 1000+ 5G Chipset, which is an Octa-core processor. Moreover, the Geekbench chart further reveals that the PDSM00 will come with 8GB RAM and pre-installed Android 11. According to the tests, the device scored 2392 on the single-core test and 5836 on the multi-core test.
The PDSM00 is not one of a kind with the Dimensity 1000+ 5G chipset but is the first phone by Oppo. Popular Chinese brands like iQOO, Realme, and Redmi have already launched a smartphone with the Dimensity 1000+, but Oppo is a little late in the market. Since it’s just a rumor, we can’t say for sure that PDSM00 will debut as the Reno 5 Pro. We will have to wait for the proper official news.
Talking about the vanilla Reno 5, we got a few speculations on the specs of this device. It seems like the Reno 5 may come with a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen with a punch-hole design and an integrated fingerprint design. The Snapdragon 765G chipset may power the device. In China, the phone may come with different RAM variants like 8 GB and 12 GB and different storage variants like 128 GB and 256 GB. Furthermore, the device may arrive with pre-installed Android 11 OS along with Quad rear cameras with a combination of 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel and 32MP for the front. Last but not least, the phone may sport a 4300mAh battery with support of 65W fast charging.
